50. výročí AIJP a podíl českých filatelistů

Na rok 2012 připravuje AIJP – Mezinárodní asociace filatelistických novinářů, člen Mezinárodní filatelistické federace FIP, oslavy 50. výročí svého založení. Kdy a kde? Během konání Světové výstavy poštovních známek PRAGA 1962 ve dnech 19. a 20. srpna roku 1962 v Praze. O tomto nastávajícím jubileu a dalších úkolech AIJP hovořil ve své výroční zprávě na kongresu AIJP v rámci světové výstavy PORTUGAL 2010 v Lisabonu prezident asociace pan Wolfgang Maassen. Text zprávy byl otištěn v plném znění v časopise AIJP The Philatelic Journalist v čísle 133 z prosince roku 2010.

Pan Maassen mj. připomíná v souvislosti s půlstoletým výročím Prahu, kde se v roce 1962 současná AIJP zrodila. Současně vzpomíná na nedávno zemřelého člena výkonného výboru SČF a jednoho z ředitelů AIJP, pana Miroslava Langhammera. Zmiňuje i jeho dlouholeté přání, aby v České republice byla na počest AIJP uspořádána nějaká významná akce.

V písemné zprávě, předané delegátům 4. valné hromady SČF dne 4. prosince 2010, předseda SČF Lumír Brendl připomněl dva významné členy organizované české filatelie, působící po léta v AIJP: pana Otto Hornunga, dlouholetého prezidenta AIJP, a pana Miroslava Langhammera, jednoho z ředitelů AIJP v posledních letech. Díky jim čs. a česká filatelie a žurnalistika získaly ve světě dobrý zvuk. Bylo by proto jen žádoucí sen Miroslava Langhammera naplnit. A jak naznačuje pan Maassen, připomenout si toto 50. výročí třeba právě během tradičního, a ve světě také již známého, 15. ročníku Mezinárodního veletrhu SBĚRATEL v září roku 2012 a přímo v Praze ho oslavit.

Napsal jsem počátkem roku 2011 o této možnosti do časopisu The Philatelic Journalist v angličtině článek s názvem „AIJP 50th Anniversary: Tradition oblige!“, který pro informaci našich filatelistů přikládám jako pokračování tohoto krátkého úvodu v češtině.

AIJP 50th Anniversary: Tradition oblige!

Reading the Annual Report by the President of the AIJP which was prepared for the AIJP Congress in Lisbon and published in The Philatelic Journalist Number 133, I got a good feeling about the positive role of the AIJP. I was especially interested in the point 5 – Other projects.

The AIJP Fiftieth Anniversary in the year 2012 will remind Prague not only as the birthplace of the AIJP, but it will also bring back the following kind words of the deceased AIJP Board member Miroslav Langhammer, a prominent member of the Union of Czech Philatelists (SČF). It was his dream and wish to organize an important event to honour the AIJP in the Czech Republic. It was in the PRAGA 1998 International Stamp Exhibition catalogue in which he dedicated one part of his article to the AIJP. He wrote: The first FIP World Exhibition of Postage Stamps PRAGA 1962 was held from 18th August to the 2nd September 1962 in the Palace of Industry. On the 19th and 20th of August a Conference of editors of the philatelic press took place with participation of 53 editors from 15 countries of Europe and overseas as well as Czechoslovak journalists. At the end, Charter of the International Association of Philatelic Journalists (AIJP) was approved. Pierre Séguy from German federal Republic was elected chairman of the Association.

In December 2010 in Prague, in my report delivered at the 4th General Meeting of the Union of Czech Philatelists where almost two hundred delegates and honorary guests were present, I spoke about our two distinguished members – Otto Hornung, former AIJP President, and Miroslav Langhammer, AIJP Director. I believe that Tradition oblige! And I am sure that my friends and colleagues – members of the newly elected SČF Board, and also those of the Czech Post and the Progres Partners Advertising company – organizer of SBERATEL International Trade Fairs in Prague, will do their best to honour the AIJP Fiftieth Anniversary in Prague. The 15th International Trade Fair SBERATEL (Sammler) would be a good occasion for so-called Salon of philatelic literature as well as for a special AIJP Board Meeting. Of course, everything will depend on dealing with institutions concerned and on harmonizing efforts with organizers of the international exhibition of philatelic literature which is to be held in MAINZ, in 2012.

Speaking about the town of Mainz, there is another historical link between Prague – the former part of the Austrian Empire, and the town of Mainz. After Napoleonic Wars according to the Karlsbad (Carlsbad) Treaty the Austrian Empire sent soldiers of the Pilsener Linien Infanterie Regiment Nr. 35 under the command of Baron Fleischer to serve in Bundesfestung Mainz between 1837-1847. Then, in November 1847, another Infantery Regiment Nr. 11 from the South Bohemian town of Písek served in Mainz. We could learn a lot about this period from postal history literature, e.g. from the book BUNDESFESTUNG MAINZ by Wolfgang Balzer & Heinrich Himmel-Agisburg (Mainz 1977), or MAINZER RAD IM DOPPELADLER by Wolfgang Balzer. It would be nice if Mr. Rainer von Scharpen or another German or Austrian specialist could revive these important postal historical events in form of a seminar or a lecture during the philatelic literature exhibition in Mainz.

Let´s hope that the AIJP Fiftieth Anniversary will be celebrated with dignity and respect. The AIJP deserves it.
